OHIM is a research-driven fashion practice that functions as a living archive, collecting, exploring and translating stories and perspectives from the African diaspora into fashion, film and image. Rather than following seasons or trends, each project begins with a story, experience or perspective that deserves greater attention. Research forms the starting point, with its outcomes translated into interdisciplinary fashion design and visual storytelling.
For GLUE Amsterdam, OHIM is part of THINKING THE ARCHIPELAGO, a group exhibition bringing together distinct creative practices by makers with roots across the wider Caribbean, including Suriname. Inspired by Édouard Glissant’s archipelagic thought, the exhibition explores connection without demanding sameness, allowing each practice to exist on its own terms.
OHIM will present an interdisciplinary fashion installation, bringing together fashion and image as different expressions of one narrative.
