Resonate with nature and regenerate
At GLUE 2026 we let nature speak and we present ‘MURMURE’ an installation where nature resonates through music. In this special installation, plants, music and technology come together in a collaboration between Judith Baehner of Het Groenlab and soundsartist Victor Vautier. An invitation not only to look, but above all, to feel and listen. We will present a meditation and musical listening sessions with VICTOR VAUTIER, composer and piano player CEDRIC VERMUE and FABRICE GONCALVES.
We are, more and more, disconnected from nature. As humans, the way we connect — to eachother and to the world — is through feeling, specifically with empathy. Long before language, we found other ways to carry feelings from one body to another: we invented dance, we invented music and ways of translating what moves inside us into something that another person could hear, feel, and recognize as their own.
This installation asks a simple question: what if we listened to a plant the way we listen to each other?
Plants react to the world constantly — through touch, through light and through time passing — with faint electrical signals. A language too quiet and too slow for us to perceive. We are not claiming that plants can hear music or make music. It is us who listen. We built a system that lets a plant response to the world and reshapes the equalization of the music in real time — its the plants feelings, translated into human emotions, sung back through a sound we already know how to feel.
We chose plants whose rhythm moves at a pace the human ear and body can recognize — living on cycles close enough to our own breathing and our own pulse, for their reactions to become audible as something more than noise. Their signals shift the balance of bass, mid and treble as the music plays, so that what is normally invisible and silent becomes part of what we hear and feel.

Judith Baehner – Het Groenlab – based in the studiospace of H57 Amsterdam - brings nature into the heart of cities with plant installations to make livable spaces in buildings, terraces, and gardens. All designed to reconnect people with the natural world. Het Groenlab consists of a passionate and driven team with an obsession for nature. Our expertise lies in plant knowledge, developing visions, creating green concepts, and crafting advisory and planting plans for both indoor and outdoor spaces. We enjoy collaborating with architects, interior designers, and landscape architects and artists to come up with beautiful creative solutions and offer an integrated and holistic approach to green living and working environments.
Victor Vautier is a French sound artist, known as “Gavroche”, who travels the world, creating art and sound projects that links music and brings people together. Over the past few years, he has produced two albums with musicians from Senegal, working from their music studio aboard a sailboat. He also organizes festivals in both France and Senegal, creating spaces where artists, musicians, and communities can connect and collaborate. Victor Vautier is developing the technical installation specifically for this project, enabling the plants to become audible through a specially adapted speaker. What normally remains invisible and inaudible is given a voice.
