My work is an exploration of the human soul through the landscape of the face. In bold, colorful portraits I try to capture the unique essence of individuals while celebrating the beauty found in diversity, imperfection and the raw energy of life. Inspired by artists like Basquiat and Herman Brood I use a mixed-media approach combining acrylics, watercolors, spray paint, markers and different types of paper.
During GLUE Amsterdam I will be presenting my work at Consentino a space where visitors can enjoy my multidisciplinary collection. I explore the specific color tones that impact our emotions, uncovering what our current color choices reveal about the era we are living in right now and ultimately where we are heading as a society in the future.
During Color me I will present paintings, clay sculptures, playful design lighting, embroidery work, a custom coloring book for adults and soundscapes inspired by my work and serve colorful cocktails. Color Me invites visitors to put away their phones, reconnect in an analog way and literally become part of the exhibition. A thought-provoking experience at the intersection of art, design and human emotion.
