Erna de Bie’s work is characterized by geometric structures that seem to grow organically, as if they develop and evolve by themselves.
Her distinctive geometric visual language forms the basis of her art and interior pieces and has more recently been translated into jewellery.
Her latest work, a set of stools, is also rooted in this same concept. The result is a series of stools with an intriguing interplay of lines that appear to continue infinitely. The work changes with the viewer’s perspective, revealing different dynamic compositions in which lines merge and unfold into a multitude of shapes.
During Glue 2026, Erna de Bie will exhibit her work from her brother’s apartment, who is also a designer and with whom she occasionally collaborates.
The space will bring together new works, earlier pieces and prototypes, creating an intimate overview of her practice. A particular focus will be placed on her jewellery, highlighting the material exploration and design process behind these pieces.
